Custom Murals & Installations by Kingston Artist Portia Po Chapman

Welcome to my mural portfolio. I’m Po — Portia Po Chapman — a professional Kingston artist. I specialize in custom murals and installation art that tell stories. My freehand brush-painted murals feature bold colour blocking and clean line work. Each piece is designed to bring personality and meaning to homes, businesses, and public spaces.

Every mural is painted with acrylics for indoor or outdoor use. From my Kingston studio, Love Art By Po, I offer free e-consultations and quotes. I look forward to creating a unique mural for you.

I create vibrant mural art and installations that invite people to engage with the work. My style blends organic lines and bold colour blocks inspired by nature. Whether 2D murals or 3D installation art, each piece is designed as a storytelling experience.

Art and building are part of my family history. I grew up around carpenters and house builders, working in wood shops and construction sites from a young age. Supporting construction work as a child taught me how to create strong, life-sized structures. That foundation now shapes my installation art and large-scale mural work.

I’ve always loved painting and building, which led me to specialize in Sculpture and Installation during my BFAH.

In 2017, I created the installation, “Tree,” and the mural, “Bear.” The two artworks marked the start of my professional art career.

In 2021, the Arts and Science Undergraduate Society commissioned me to paint a mural for the Indigenous Reflection Room in Kingston Hall. The design was based on artwork I created in 2017 for the ASUS Journal of Indigenous Studies.

Using my drafting and 3D modelling skills, I showed how the piece would fit the space. Although it was a 4′ x 4′ painting, it launched my work as a Kingston muralist.

My specialty is freehand, brush-painted murals that function as storytelling pieces for changing spaces. These contemporary Kingston murals blend mural art with installation art, creating personal, transportable works that support community and client vision.

Traditional murals are large wall paintings applied directly to exterior surfaces. Today, mural art also includes smaller, moveable, durable installations. I create contemporary murals for residences, offices, institutions and community spaces.

Clients want clear visuals of their final mural or installation. At Love Art By Po, I provide detailed proposals and sketches that match the finished artwork. Once we agree on the brief, we sign the contract and adjust only as needed. My goal as a Kingston mural artist is simple: no surprises — only strong, professional results.
